Caitlyn Grace is a singer-songwriter who crafts dreamy, indie-pop melodies that serve as a vehicle for ponderous lyrics. She takes inspiration from the melancholic turn-of-the-century sound of Elliott Smith, the Sundays, and Fiona Apple, as well as the contemporary work of Ethel Cain and Phoebe Bridgers. In March, 2024 she released her debut single, “Faith Full,” as a precursor to her upcoming EP “Archangel.”

She also feels just a little weird talking about herself in the third person.

I’ve been writing songs ever since I can remember. Before I even had any understanding of how to play chords on a guitar, or basic song structure, I was making up songs about how I felt and singing them out loud. While my knowledge and ambition has grown and shifted over the years, I continue to do just that.

At around 14 years old, after a couple years of guitar lessons, I began frequenting local open mic nights. I quickly found a passion for performing my songs, and was fascinated with how these lyrics, often starting as diary entries, could impact strangers with completely separate lives.

Currently, I’m based in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2024 I played shows at Crow’s Coffee, Englewood Arts, and Paper Plains Zine Festival, where I also showcased and sold my original zines and artwork. I attended the occasional open mic too, of course.
